Lauren's October Trend Alert

Lauren's October Trend Alert

Happy October Ladies! We were lucky enough to work with Style Me Lauren this month, below she shares this month's favorites with you!

Hi guys! So excited to be back on the blog sharing some October favorites with you!! Right now, army green is trending and with that comes military inspired jackets! Or is it the other way around!? ;) Either way, I'm all in and SO loving this trend! Today I've teamed up with Rural Haze to share with you my favorite way to style an outfit and sharing 3 different army inspired jackets and accessories that I know you will love!!

First up is this darling Baird Safari patchwork jacket with a faux fur hood. Anything with a fluffy hood is instantly adorable in my book! This jacket fits true to size, has a full length zipper and I love that it has a cute tie in front. The patchwork only adds to the cuteness of this jacket! This jacket is warm, cozy, and cute! I paired this jacket with The Empire Erimish bracelet set  and a darling Hobo red wallet! I love how the reds really complimented the cute red patchwork!!

Next up, this beautiful Banquite Army Jacket almost looks like it's painted or even stamped, it's SO pretty!! The flowers are so gorgeous on this jacket and I love the mix of color in the flowers! I paired this jacket with The Bedford Erimish bracelet set which I can't get enough of! I love the blue hues and the cheetah print bracelet set as a compliment to the floral army jacket. Who doesn't love cheetah and florals together?! This cute hobo clutch is a wallet is the perfect accessory to round out my look. I love how soft it is and the gorgeous blue!!
The third jacket is called Sweet Grass Cargo Jacket and is my personal favorite! The embroidery just is so up my alley! I love how embroidery almost stands up on clothes...it gives it depth and texture which I love. The cuffs of this jacket just put me over the cuteness edge. They're pre cuffed for an instantly put together look.I paired this look with a super adorable clutch...and very fitting, it's called "The Lauren Clutch" in the color persimmon! So adorable! I finished this look with the Foxy Erimish Set!
Ok guys! That wraps up this month's trend alert! Make sure to check back next month for next mont's blog post!! Hope you have a wonderful week!

Lauren

Transition into Fall

Hey guys! It's Lauren from Style Me Lauren, and I'm excited to announce a new series starting this month! I will be guest blogging over here on Rural Haze every month to give you guys insider style tips, trend reports, my favorite new Rural Haze items, and much more!
Today I wanted to chat with you guys about how to transition your wardrobe from Summer to Fall. This topic can seem daunting to some, but I'm going to share with you a few tips and tricks that may make the transition easier! First of all, go through your closet. I know, I'm sorry, it's a pain in the butt. But knowing what you have, and your base of where you're starting is so helpful! I can't tell you how many times I find something in my closet and think, "oh, I forgot I had that!" Sounds stupid, but it's the truth! This step is probably the worst part if you're like me, and just want to pretend that your closet is completely organized and not a cluster ;) BUT, once the organization part is done, then the fun part begins. Once you know what you have, it's easier to see what you need. Trends change from season to season and from year to year, so some items you may have purchased last year, you may not want to wear this year. That's totally fine! There are so many great Fall trends this year that will be so cute in your wardrobe! But, before we get into fun trends, l wanted to share my #1 trick for transitioning my Summer clothes. Think of your dresses as layering pieces. It's much easier to envision this example with a solid dress, or a dress that has a print with some darker colors in it. For example, maybe you bought a floral dress this summer but it has black in it, navy or even an olive green. These options are best when transitioning to fall, because you can pull the darker colors out by wearing other complimentary pieces. I'm going to use the example of a black dress. I have a black slip dress I've owned for a few years. It's easy, classic, has spaghetti straps, hits right above my knee...you get the picture. Simple black dress. So, I don't want to be running around town this Fall in spaghetti straps. One thing I love to do is to add a chambray top over my dress, and tie the top in a knot to give me waistline. This simple trick takes my summer dress to a Fall skirt. If I throw on over the knee boots, a faux fur vest, and a cute beanie...you would never know this dress was a Summer staple!
My Favorite Fall trends you can buy on Rural Haze!
This Fall, knotted and twisted tops and tee's are trending like crazy. I love this Terry Cold Shoulder Top so much! The green floral is my favorite and can't wait to wear it this fall with black denim, booties, and a cute solid Kimono!
Floral Cardis and Kimonos. Kimono's and printed cardi's have been in style in the western world for yearrssss. But now, the mainstream world is finally catching up, and you're seeing all sorts of cute kimono's out there!! My favorite pic is The Shelby Cardigan. It's bright, bold, and simply SO easy to wear. It's a no brainer with jeans, and a white tee, or even a with cute black tank for date night!

Quick Tips For Transitioning your Summer wardrobe to Fall:

- Pick a dress you bought in summer
- Add a cardi
- Add accessories
- Throw on a pair of boots

Annie's Fall Favorites

Annie's Fall Favorites

With the beginning of school, the end of summer and the air starting to get a bit more breezy and cool again, Rural Haze has just what you need to spice up (or pumpkin spice if you know what I mean) your closet this Fall! Whether it is a sweater for evening dinners or a casual long sleeve to wear around the house, we have the styles for you.

Winnett Fringe Cardigan

This stylish cardigan is definitely a favorite this season. Dress up or down with the many ways that this comfy piece can be worn. A little tuck in the front can make all the difference and add a cute swooped neck for a little flair.  A simple edition to your fall wardrobe and a must have this season!

Axtell Scallop Top

If you can’t tell, we are a tad bit obsessed with everything scalloped. This fun top is perfect for a fall evening out or just another day at the office. With versatile colors, black and rose, this piece can be styled up with slacks or a pencil skirt, as well as a casual addition to your favorite jeans. Another essential to your closet as fall soon arrives.

Big Sky Cold Shoulder Dress

I fell in love with this dress the minute I pulled it out of the box. The soft texture and simple colors make it so easy to pair with your favorite jewelry or some of our famous boots. As featured in pictures of the rodeo by one of our gals, Alyssa, this dress stands out in crowds. It lands as one of our fall arrivals because it can also be worn with leggings and boots during the chillier autumn days. Grab em before they are gone!

Bozeman Keyhole Sweater

Last but not least is this perfect and simple piece! The keyhole style is in ladies and Rural Haze is ready for you. We are in love with the colors and feel of this sweater and you will be too. A simple tee to put under any cardigan and the perfect lounging shirt!

Style Me Lauren

Style Me Lauren

About two years ago, a friend referred me to the blog www.stylemelauren.com, I fell in love. She is all kinds of classy with a little spice. Fast forward thru a few months and I felt startstuck for the first time.

I was pulling to my driveway one afternoon and got a phone call. 'Hi Jane, this is Lauren Condit' *Silence* 'With StyleMeLauren' *Stop breathing*

Ha! STYLE ME LAUREN is calling ME. A mutual friend had let her know that we started as an Etsy shop and she was looking into starting a handbag line (which is amazing btw). Long story short, she launched her brand and joined us at many of our holiday shows. From Salinas to Vegas, we got to know each other. She has amazing lashes, a beautiful heartfelt smile, a kind demeanor and a stellar work ethic.

Lauren's blog has blown up and you all need to do yourselves a favor and follow. She was kind enough to highlight a few of our favorite dresses. See below, or better yet, go to www.stylemelauren.com to read the blog and sign up for her adorable newsletter <3

Meet the Maker: McIntire Saddlery

Meet the Maker: McIntire Saddlery

This post is the first of our 'Meet the Maker Series' and we couldn't be more excited to launch it with McIntire Saddlery!

We brought on McIntire Saddlery following WESA Denver Market in January and it has been flying out our door since! Her handcrafted cuffs, earrings, and hats are a must-have for any edgy gal who wants to show a little color!

We put Miranda McIntire in the hot seat and grilled her. Here are our favorite snippets!

Where are you based? Originally from Breckenridge, Texas, but my business is in Eastland County.

What is the background on your craft?  I grew up in my uncle's shop watching him make saddles my whole life. I attended college at Tarleton State University and got an Ag Degree with a minor in Business. While in college, I worked for other saddle makers. After graduating college, I started my own business, mainly doing custom leather work. I have a wholesale line that I am very excited about, but I still try to do my custom leather work when possible.

What made you take the plunge?  I have done leather work since high school, and after college on the side while selling Ag Commodities and Real Estate. Eventually, I had enough leather work to do it full time. After 15 years of just doing custom leather work, I was able to develop a wholesale line to market to stores.

What sets McIntire Saddlery apart? Everything is hand made, not on a production line. I use high-quality products and leather.

What is the best part about your job?  I am able to be available for my daughters. Being a single mom, that is hands down the best thing about this job. I am also lucky enough to employ my friends that want to see this business succeed.

Who do you admire? My Parents. They are the perfect example of a hard worker's and have instilled the same work ethic in me. My Dad taught me there wasn't anything that I couldn't do because I was a girl. He also taught me the importance of being a fair, honest person. I am working to instill those same values in my daughters.

Favorite quote? My favorite quote is "Live like someone left the gate open". I had a horse that would run for the gate and when I heard that quote, it reminded me of him and reminds me to run after what I want in life.
