Hi all! Jane here. It's been a month of Sundays since we posted an update. I didn't know where to start, so I poured myself a glass of wine, Sextant Kamal to be exact :)
I haven't done a blog post personally, since before Billy was born. He is now 4 months old, in 18 month clothing and the center of our hearts. Just three years ago I had no plans to ever get married or have children, just large aspirations to be the coolest Aunt this side of the Mississippi.
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays, if you knew me in college, you may recall a few Halloween parties. Personally, my bank account recalls the noise violations. Now, Halloween has a whole new meaning. While Billy is too young to remember, I couldn't miss the opportunity. A dear friend of ours, Alice, was kind enough to make this little nugget into the King of the Jungle. What were you and/or your kids for Halloween?
Up next: an update on our Holiday Dress Collection!
It's that time of the year again when all weddings, rehearsal dinners and bridal showers are starting to pop up and begin! If you are looking for that perfect dress to rock at either your bridal shower or your rehearsal dinner Rural Haze has you covered. Don’t sweat going to twenty different places trying to find that perfect white dress, we have a few jaw droppers to choose from that will have your friends and family asking, "Where did you get that dress?" Here are a few of our favorite picks for the perfect wedding occasion.
Rainier Lace Dress
This dress doesn’t just stop at its breathtaking lace, but it melts our hearts with the scalloped neckline and elegant pleats. The two-inch-thick straps are sure to please and stay wonderfully through any bridal occasion. The gold zipper is a fun accent and makes this dress even more appealing from behind.
Idanha Crochet Dress
This simple but sweet dress won us over with the beautiful detailed lace neckline. The crochet continues in stripped patterns down the front that are small in perspective but make the dress something to swoon over. You will love the one button back that keeps you comfortable and moveable at dinner or shower. More is definitely not less when it comes to this dress.
Shedd Caged Dress
We aren’t lying when we say that this dress is the perfect combination between classy and sassy. The caged front and back provides not only comfort but the look that is so in style this summer. The simplicity of this dress provides a perfect fit for any bridal occasion as well as a flowy fun dress that you are sure to love.
Princeton Crochet Dress
One of my favorites! The bell sleeves will have you in love at first sight. It is the perfect dress for any bride during her special days before the wedding. The crochet top is an effortless highlight to the A-line bust and flows perfectly into the simple bottom. The tie back will keep your shoulders covered and provide movability and comfort. A must have!
There is something so romantic about a piece of turquoise. Whether you're just looking to start your collection or for that one specific piece you simply can't seem to find, we've got it!
We were lucky enough to meet with some representatives of tribes in New Mexico while we were in Denver two weeks ago. Simply put: We fell in love and came home with turquoise - lots and lots of turquoise!
We're just droppin' by today to show you a few of our favorite new western turquoise jewelry pieces. This one above had me at first glance, as the contrasting colors make it the perfect statement ring.
New to turquoise and want to keep it simple? Or just looking to add to your already classic collection? This one is right up your alley.
Now, now, don't fret. We didn't ONLY get rings, we brought back oodles of earrings as well. Our favorite, being this slab style turquoise earring. The perfect amount of color for any outfit. Will work great with anything from a messy bun to date night hair.
Stop drooling on your screen and check out our turquoise section today!
Many of you probably follow online boutiques that refer to WESA Denver Market, but what is it? WESA is a buying show for shops and boutiques that have a western side, whether it be fashion or tack.
Every January, these boutiques flock to WESA to see the latest and the greatest in Western fashion. Needless to say, it's incredibly exciting every year, new western chic product lines, new trends and, best of all, new friends!
We left market fully stocked with many of your favorite western chic clothing and apparel brands we already carry and the addition of a few new ones! Here is a sneak peak of what's headed our way! And yes... they are in greyscale on purpose... we can't give ALL the details away before they get here!
Itasca Leather Goods- super bright, super durable moccasins <3
Liberty Black Boots - the perfect marriage between contemporary and western. My toes are wiggling in excitement at the opportunity to get the tall riding boot on <3
Corral Boots- the PERFECT boot for rodeo season! A smile will always match perfectly with a pair of fancy cowgirl boots <3
Old Gringo Boots - last, but certainly not least! I love these boots so much, all the ladies in my bridal party got them.
Merry Christmas Eve, Ladies!!
I'm sitting here, sipping my coffee, eating dutch muffins (not sure what they really are, my mother in law made them, but they are addicting), watching the snow fall, and reflecting on all I have to be thankful for this holiday season. Here is just a short list:
1. I am thankful for all of you. My little custom-order Etsy shop has become something I could have never envisioned when I began my Western chic journey. I am referring to so much more than purchases, but instead to the many friendships I have made through Rural Haze. Whether it was a simple email, phone conversation or meeting in person, each of you have touched me in such a wonderful way.
2. I am thankful for my husband, Peter. While I am warm, sitting inside writing this blog, he is out in the 6 inches of snow we got last night, spreading more straw for the cows so they can stay cozy.
3. I am thankful that even though I physically left CA, that it still only feels like a few hours away. It still feels like home, and I'm sure, will for a while.
4. A simple follow-up to #3; I am thankful for all of the new relationships I have made in Idaho and for my in-laws who have truly made me a part of their family.
5. I am thankful for Flying M Coffee in downtown Nampa, ID and their peanut butter and chocolate Krispy Treats. If you've ever had them, you likely agree with me in the fact that they deserve to be on this list.
6. Last, but not least: I am thankful someone had a different plan than I. Peter and I are expecting our first child on our 1st wedding anniversary (to the day- not kidding). Not the quite a few years in we had planned on, but now that the reality has really sunk in, it's a little less scary and more exciting. Don't get me wrong, I'm still terrified, but I figure our dog has turned out ok...?
Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope during your time with loved ones, you laugh until you have to pee, get at least one super too-long awkward hug, no coal in your stocking and sore cheeks on Dec. 26th from smiling so much in the previous days.
I am a sucker.
I am a sucker for bold colors, shift styles and cheetah print.
Turquoise Haven exemplifies these attributes, so you could only imagine the smile on my face when all of our new bohemian chic beauties arrived.
